OGORI COMMUNITY STUDY CENTRE
Ogori Community Study Centre is located in Ogori, Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State in the North Central zone of Nigeria. The centre was established in October 2010 to cater for the academic needs of the community and its adjourning villages. Being a boundary community, Ogori Study Centre receives patronage from the neighboring towns of Edo and Ondo States. It currently has a student population of about 1,500 spread across seven faculties of the university.
Ogori is blessed with good weather that makes for a very conducive atmosphere for learning. The environment is green and devoid of noise. It has adequate facilities to serve both pen-on-paper and e-examination purposes. While the block of classrooms is well equipped with modern seating facilities, the ICT block is well equipped with enough computer systems; and additional space to take more systems for e-examinations. These advantages put a great check to examination malpractices in the study centre. The centre has a 300-sitter capacity auditorium/lecture theatre, equipped with smart board and PAS that serves the purposes of matriculation ceremonies, orientation ceremonies and other special events.
Ogori Community Study Centre builds a culture of hard work and academic independence in her students. This has made the centre to graduate about two hundred students in both undergraduate and post graduate programmes between 2014 and 2017. The level of free but courteous relationship between the community, staff and students at the study centre makes the centre a delight - a typical model for community study centres.
